The Texas Bricken Story
People continue to ask me "Alan How did you come about making the Texas Bricken?"
Honestly, it is a funny story as I decided to stop eating meat in 2020 and only eat seafood, sushi, black beans and vegetables. I became a pescatarian to help improve my health and auto-immune situations.
Being I am mentally disabled with depression, I tend to try my best to focus on the best things in life. It is difficult for me and years ago my depression caused me to become an alcoholic. I didn't ever want to become an alchoholic again as it almost destroyed my life completely.
So I decided when I became extremely depressed, I would eat brisket or chicken instead of drinking alcohol. This way whenever I did become very depressed, I would only gain weight and have alot of gas instead of truly affecting my body with too much alcohol. The girlfriend hated the gas part LOL!
With losing my domestic partner of 10 years along with racism situations, family problems and financial issues, I became extremely depressed.
I went to the kitchen and opened the fridge as I bought baked chicken and brisket that weekend for my girlfriend. I was like which to choose, chicken or brisket? I just couldn't decide so I said HELL I WILL JUST EAT BOTH! So I did and I decided to chop it up in small pieces, add some seasoning, juices and spice it up. I took a bite and said ..."I LIKE THIS...I LIKE THIS ALOT!!!"
So it made me feel better of course that night and I decided to let others try it and then The Texas Bricken was born.
